Jennifer Lopez's Birthday Tribute To Anthony Sparked Music Comeback
JENNIFER Lopez decided to make a musical comeback after she performed a Barbra Streisand song at her husband Marc Anthony’s 40th birthday party this past September.

The singer/actress — who put her career on hold when she became pregnant with twins — is due to release Love? — her first album since 2007’s Brave – this summer.

“I sang a song for Marc’s 40th birthday called My Man,” said Lopez. “It is an old Barbra Streisand song. But when I sang it — she’s so my idol –I thought ‘I can’t believe I’m trying to sing a Barbra Streisand song. This is insane. What are you thinking?’ But I sang it and it was almost like I had graduated.

“I needed to get to that point. When I sang it, he had tears in his eyes and we were both like, ‘What was that?’ And it just gave me that, that finally I’m a singer. This is what I do. Nobody can ever make me doubt it again.

“With the acting I was a bit nervous at first. But with this, the first day back at rehearsal I was like, ‘This is what I do’. It felt really good. I was really just so happy to be doing it. When I was finishing up my album and the music was feeling right, everything just came together. It’s been nice to be back on stage and doing my thing. It’s like coming back into the ring.”

Jennifer Lopez : " I fit in exercise around my children."
JENNIFER Lopez tries to fit her exercise regime around family life. The singer/actress — who raises twins Max and Emme with hubby Marc Anthony — says she is trying her best to stay in shape, but insists motherhood comes first.

“I didn’t work out for the first couple of months after Max and Emme were born,” she said. “I was just concentrating on being a mom.

“Now I fit any exercise around my children. If I have time between feeds and the daily routine, then I will do it, but my babies come first.”

Jennifer Lopez impersonates Rihanna in We Are The World Haiti fundraiser SNL spoof
Jennifer Lopez adds comedienne to her CV along with singer and actress with this hilarious impersonation of Rihanna.

J Lo donned a blonde quiff wig for the comedy sketch on legendary US show Saturday Night Live, and not only imitated her younger rival's clothing style, but her vocal tics as well.

She even managed to get in a few "ella, ellas" too as she took off RiRi's role in the recent remake of charity single We Are The World, this time, to raise money for the victims of the Haiti earthquake.

It comes just after Jen takes the mick out of ex P Diddy by describing someone as: "the fella who held the umbrella for P Diddy...".

Perhaps J Lo is keen to remind the public of her other talents as well as being a popstar.

It was confirmed last week that the star had parted company with her record label Sony after a decade on its books.

However, she says she's found another home and will be releasing new album Love this summer.

Jennifer Lopez splits from longtime record label Sony; future of JLo's new album in doubt

She'll always be Jenny from the Block.

But Jennifer Lopez is no longer making music for Sony.

JLo and Sony Music's Epic Records, where she's spent the bulk of her recording career, have parted ways, according to DeadlineHollywood.com.

There are conflicting reports about how the ties were severed, according to the site's editor, Nikki Finke.

The nice version is that the contract was up and since Lopez fulfilled her obligation with her last two singles, it wasn't renewed. A mutual decision was made not to go ahead with an album.

The nasty version is that JLo was dropped by Sony.

Whichever version of events is true, a question mark surrounds the future of Lopez's seventh studio album, "Love?",
which in the context is an ironic title if ever there was one.

Some Internet reports say that "Love?" — which featured a pre-release dance hit "Fresh Out the Oven" and a pre-release dance dud "Louboutins" — was nearly finished and set to come out in April.

But Lopez's camp told Finke that "Love?" was still a work in progress and "by no means done" and that record release dates tend to be flexible.

Other reports suggest that JLo has lost her edge, citing the failure of both "Louboutins" and her performance at the American Music Awards to generate heat.

Execs "aren't sure who her audience is anymore," a source told Finke. "Where once she had little girls, she's been supplanted by Beyonce, Gaga, and Rihanna."

Lopez's manager, Benny Medina, confirmed the divorce between star and studio.

"Jennifer had a wonderful relationship with the Sony Music group," he noted, "and they have shared many successes together, but the time was right to make a change that best serves the direction her career as an actress and recording artist."

One rumored direction when it comes to her recording career is Island Def Jam, where she's reportedly been in talks.

In the meantime, JLo still has a movie career. Her new rom-com "The Back-Up Plan" is set to come out on April 23rd, when it will go up against "Wall Street 2" and "MacGruber."

All this tumult will give the writers at "Saturday Night Live" plenty of grist for material. Lopez is slated to host the show next weekend.

Jennifer Lopez ready for AMA stage
Jennifer Lopez plans to include fireworks and an on-stage costume change in her performance at the American Music Awards. "American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert will incorporate leather and chains and into his. Lopez and Lambert will be among more than a dozen performers at Sunday's ceremony, and they took time out Thursday to perfect their performances.

Lopez is in top form, but she's still a little nervous. She'll be singing a song fans have never heard before and performing live on TV for the first time in years. "You know what you're doing and you feel very good about it, but at the same time, you wouldn't be human if you're not afraid," she said after her rehearsal.

She's set to perform "Louboutins," the first single from her new album, "Love?" - due in stores next year. Flanked by backup dancers, the 40-year-old entertainer busts out her Fly Girl moves in a number that begins in a boxing ring and ends in the audience. Famed sports announcer Michael Buffer is in the act, too. "I think it's going to be good," she said. "Dancing again, singing, the lights and the costumes - it all feels like second nature."

Veteran choreographer Kenny Ortega, director of "Michael Jackson's This Is It," gave Lopez's performance a positive review. "Awesome," he said after dropping by the Nokia Theatre to watch her rehearse.

Other artists set to perform at the 37th annual American Music Awards include Rihanna, Whitney Houston, Green Day, Lil' Wayne, Lady Gaga, Eminem, Keith Urban, Jay-Z and Carrie Underwood.

Janet Jackson will open the show with a medley of songs, but producer Larry Klein wouldn't say whether her performance would be a tribute to her late brother. "It's a surprise," he said.

Fans voted online to choose the winners of the American Music Awards, which honor the year's top-selling artists in eight popular genres. The ceremony will be broadcast live on ABC from the Nokia Theatre.

Jennifer Lopez to Sing New Single 'Louboutins' at 2009 AMAs
In addition, Jennifer Lopez's 'Fresh Out the Oven' music video has been made available for sneak peek through its bootleg version.

Jennifer Lopez has a sixth studio album "Love?" coming out next year. As an advance of the effort, a lead single called "Louboutins" will be sent to radios next month and will be showcased live at 2009 American Music Awards on November 22.

"Louboutins" reportedly is produced by Christopher "Tricky" Stewart and written by The-Dream. The song actually was meant to be recorded for Brandy's forthcoming release. Following Brandy's exit from Epic Records, it was handed over to J-Lo.

Jennifer Lopez is expected to release "Love?" on January 25, 2010. A promotional single called "Fresh Out the Oven" has been unveiled earlier this month. Coming from production hands of The Neptunes, the dance track has Pitbull lending his vocal on the lines.

Though confirmed to have been recorded only for fun and will not be included in Jennifer's new album, "Fresh Out the Oven" has got a music video treatment. During her visit to nightclub LIV over the weekend with Marc Anthony and Kim Kardashian, the video was debuted. Some of the partygoers at the venue have taped and uploaded it on YouTube.
