Jennifer Lopez prepares to sing in Spanish only
Jennifer Lopez says she is fulfilling her dreams with the upcoming release of an all-Spanish album "Como ama una mujer," or "How a Woman Loves," and two Hispanic-themed films this year.
"I wanted to sing in Spanish from the beginning of my recording career," the New Yorker of Puerto Rican origin told The Associated Press. The album, which will be released in the U.S. on March 27 after more than two years of work, was mainly produced by Lopez' husband Marc Anthony.

Jennifer Lopez also produced and stars in "Bordertown," a film about the killings of hundreds of women in and around the city of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, on the U.S. border. In the film, directed by Gregory Nava and costarring Antonio Banderas, Lopez plays a reporter sent to the city to investigate what she says is "one of the world's most shocking and disturbing, underreported crimes against humanity."

Jennifer Lopez also has a leading role in the film "El cantante," starring her husband as Puerto Rican salsa singer Hector Lavoe. Directed by Leon Ichaso, Lopez plays Puchy, the singer's long-suffering wife, the AP reports.
"It's such a passion project, it took four years to make it," she said. "It's a very exciting, passionate, intense movie of the tragic life of Hector Lavoe."

Both films will open in U.S. theaters in the summer. Jennifer Lopez soon plans to promote "Como ama una mujer" in the United States, Spain, Mexico and "everywhere we can."

Jennifer Lopez reveals her daddy’s a Scientologist.
Jennifer Lopez’s friendship with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes may continue to fuel rumors that she is close to becoming a Scientologist, but the singer-actress has finally confirmed details regarding another aspect of her life. Billboard.com is reporting that her first-ever Spanish-language album, "Como Ama Una Mujer" ("How a Woman Loves"), will be released on April 3 by Epic and worked in conjunction with Sony BMG Latin for the U.S. Latin marketplace and Latin America. The release also comes with a planned five-part miniseries for Univision TV based on a on a treatment by Lopez, which in turn is based on the content of the album. Lopez will not star in the series, but music from the album will appear throughout the program and she will perform a track at the end of each episode.
"Emotionally speaking, to me this album is more me than any other album," she tells Billboard.
The celebrity, however, has not abandoned the urban sound that helped her transition from film to music. She’s planning to release such an album – all English-language – before year's end. "I've matured as a singer," she says. "Marc gave me confidence in the studio as well. When someone believes in you so much, you don't want to let them down. And it's also the material. I think this material lent itself to my voice. And it actually made me approach my new English album in a different way. I have a different standard now."
Meanwhile, J.Lo has also confirmed that her father is a Scientologist, and although she says she remains firm in her religion, she is troubled by the negative perception surrounding it.
"I, myself, am Catholic. But it's just sad that people would look at it (Scientology) in that way,” Jennifer Lopez said during an interview with South Florida’s NBC news affiliate. “My dad has been a Scientologist for 20 years. It's weird people want to paint it in a negative way."
